Schedule posts to Telegram channels and groups
Postuva posts to Telegram through your own bot. Create a bot with @BotFather, add it to your channel as an admin, then connect it with the bot token and the channel's @username. You can schedule text posts of up to 4,096 characters, photos and albums of up to 10 images.

How do I schedule a post in a Telegram channel?
- Create a bot. Message @BotFather in Telegram, send /newbot and follow the prompts. Copy the token it gives you.
- Make the bot an admin. Add the bot to your channel or group as an administrator with permission to post messages.
- Connect in Postuva. Open Channels → Telegram and enter the bot token and the channel's @username (or numeric id for private channels).
- Schedule posts. Write the post, add photos, pick a time and press Schedule.

Why run a Telegram channel alongside social media?
A Telegram channel is an owned audience: no algorithm decides who sees your post. Every subscriber gets it, often with a notification. That makes Telegram one of the best places for announcements, restocks and community news, and a natural partner to your public posts on X or LinkedIn, which reach new people but only a fraction of your followers.
Telegram's built-in scheduling vs a scheduler
In Telegram you can long-press the send button and choose Schedule message. That's fine for one channel. If you run a channel alongside X, LinkedIn or a Discord server, a scheduler lets you announce the same news everywhere at once from one calendar.
What about long captions on photo posts?
Telegram limits photo captions to 1,024 characters. When a post with an image is longer than that, Postuva sends the photo first and the full text as a message right after, so nothing gets cut off.
What should you post in a Telegram channel?
| Post type | Why it works on Telegram | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Early access | Subscribers feel rewarded for following | “Club members get the restock 24 hours early” |
| Behind the scenes | Personal, less polished updates fit the format | Photos from the workshop or office |
| Weekly digest | Fits Telegram's long message limit | Five links worth reading this week |
| Polls and questions | Easy replies in linked discussion groups | “Which product should we bring back?” |
How do Telegram's message limits work?
A Telegram text message can be up to 4,096 characters, far more than most social networks, so a full announcement fits in one post. Photos are different: a photo's caption is limited to 1,024 characters. When a post with an image is longer than that, Postuva sends the photo first and the full text straight after, so nothing is truncated. Albums of up to 10 images are sent as a single grouped message.

Is posting through a bot safe?
Yes. A bot is a separate identity that only does what you allow. It needs admin rights in your channel to post, but it never has access to your personal Telegram account, chats or contacts. If you ever want to stop it, remove the bot from the channel or revoke its token with @BotFather. Postuva stores the bot token encrypted and uses it only to send your scheduled posts.
Troubleshooting Telegram posting
- “Chat not found”: check the @username, or use the numeric id for private channels (it starts with -100).
- “Not enough rights to send messages”: make the bot an administrator with permission to post.
- “Unauthorized”: the bot token was revoked or mistyped; get it again from @BotFather.
- Image doesn't appear: the image link must be public and point directly to the image file.
Worked example: a restock announcement
Text: “Club members: the Huila restock is live for you 24 hours before everyone else. Use code CLUB10 at checkout.” Add a product photo, and schedule it for 13:00 on the day of the restock.
Same post, other networks: the public version goes to X and LinkedIn the next day without the code, so Telegram members genuinely get early access. Two posts, one calendar, a reason to join the channel.
How often should you post in a Telegram channel?
Because every subscriber can get a notification, Telegram channels reward quality over volume. One to five posts a week suits most business and community channels; news and deal channels post more, but their subscribers expect that. Watch the view counts under your posts and the subscriber count after each post. If people leave after busy days, slow down.
