What should a Facebook Page post?
Facebook rewards posts that start conversations among people who already know you: your customers, neighbours and community. Questions, local news, events, behind-the-scenes photos and short videos tend to do better than pure promotion. Native video and photos usually reach more people than links, so when you share a link, add a photo and a sentence of context.
- Events: opening hours, workshops, live sessions.
- Community: customer spotlights, local partners, team news.
- Offers: sales and new products, with a clear deadline.
- Questions: simple ones people can answer in a word.
How often should a business post on Facebook?
Three to five posts a week keeps a Page active without overwhelming followers. If you also run a Group, a weekly discussion prompt keeps members engaged between announcements.
View as table
| Network | Posts a week |
|---|---|
| 2–3 | |
| 3–4 | |
| TikTok | 3–5 |
| 3–5 | |
| Bluesky | 5–7 |
| X (Twitter) | 7–21 |
Troubleshooting scheduled Facebook posts
- No Schedule option: you may not have the right Page role; ask an admin to give you full control or content permissions.
- Post didn't publish: check Meta Business Suite's notifications; expired permissions or policy flags can block a post.
- Wrong time: scheduling uses the timezone set on your Page; check it in Page settings.
- Can't find it: scheduled posts live under Content or Planner, not on the Page itself.
Planning Facebook alongside LinkedIn, X and community channels
Meta's tools only cover Meta's apps. If your announcements also go to LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Telegram or Discord, keep one calendar for all of them so launches line up. Postuva covers those networks today and is adding Facebook Pages next.
Worked example: a week of Facebook Page posts
Four posts, written in one sitting and scheduled in Meta Business Suite in about fifteen minutes.
| Day | Post | Goal |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Opening hours and what's new this week | Inform |
| Wednesday | Behind-the-scenes photo of the team | Connect |
| Friday | Weekend offer with a photo and deadline | Sell |
| Sunday | Question: “What should we make next week?” | Engage |
Facebook post ideas that get comments
Comments are the strongest signal on Facebook. Schedule these for times your audience is relaxed, such as evenings and weekend mornings, and reply to every comment in the first hour.
- “This or that?” questions with two photos
- Fill-in-the-blank prompts: “Our perfect Saturday starts with ___”
- Behind-the-scenes photos with a short story
- Customer spotlights with permission and a thank-you
- Local news or events relevant to your community
When is the best time to post on Facebook?
Meta Business Suite shows when your Page's followers are online: open Insights, then Audience, and look at the activity chart. For many local businesses that's early morning, lunchtime and evening on weekdays, with a weekend morning spike. Schedule your most important posts just before those peaks so they've collected some early engagement when most followers arrive.
Facebook scheduling for agencies and multi-location businesses
If you manage several Pages, for example one per location or one per client, Meta Business Suite lets you switch between them from the business selector, and you can schedule the same post to more than one Page you manage. Keep a shared calendar of what goes out on each Page so locations don't post conflicting offers on the same day.
